Window & Door Cills

Good maintenance of door and window cills will extend their life before replacement.  It is important not to let the paintwork flake or peel from the surface before repainting.

This is an example of a window and cill that has been left too long without repainting - wood rot has started on the left hand side.  It is repairable but regular maintenance is a better option.

Wood rot has been left to run its course in the example below, meaning an expensive repair job is necessary or even complete renewal.

The surface paint has been removed from the window frame with a blow torch then the rotten wood has been removed making it ready for treating and filling.
